Vetoryl® (trilostane) Capsules
A UK licensed treatment for canine hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing’s syndrome). Vetoryl contains the active ingredient trilostane, which is an enzyme inhibitor that blocks the synthesis of cortisol. Vetoryl is presented as a 10 mg, 30 mg, 60 mg or 120 mg capsule.
Felimazole® (methimazole) Tablets
A UK licensed treatment for feline hyperthyroidism. Felimazole contains the anti-thyroid drug thiamazole, which reduces the production of T4 and T3 within the thyroid gland. Felimazole can be used for either pre-operative stabilisation or long-term medical management of the hyperthyroid cat. Felimazole is presented as a 2.5 mg or 5 mg small sugar-coated tablet.
Equidone® (domperidone) Gel
In December, Dechra PLC announced the acquisition of the intellectual property for Equidone Gel, an equine product, which is at an advanced stage of development for the US market.
The use of the active ingredient, domperidone, has been co-developed by Equi-Tox and Clemson University, based in South Carolina, USA for the prevention of Fescue Toxicity, a disease which is caused by eating a fungus which infects tall fescue grass. The most serious clinical signs are observed in the late stages of pregnancy and the toxicity can result in foal death.
